Are You Designing A New Master Bathroom?
Posted on: 27 September 2019
You have probably heard stories from elderly people about when they were little kids and everybody in the family had to share one bathroom. Part of these stories might have even mentioned how grateful they all were that they didn't have an outhouse anymore. Aren't you glad that you live in an age when you can have more than one bathroom in your home? And, even better, it can be as beautiful as the other rooms in your house.
Do you already have a plan for designing your new master bathroom? If that's not the case, from selecting the shower doors to adding the bathroom's decor, here are some ideas that might help you.
The Shower Doors -- Will your new bathroom have a separate shower, or will you combine the shower and the bathtub to create more space? Either way, think of selecting glass doors. It's true that shower curtains might be beautiful. However, they can also be a nuisance. Plus, you'll have to replace them as time goes by.
Selecting a glass shower door isn't just a beautiful choice, it's a practical one, too. Your glass shower door will last for an extremely long time. It will be easy to install and to maintain, too. Think of keeping a squeegee close to the shower door so that you can swipe the water off each time you shower. Simple! When the glass door needs extra attention, just use the same cleaner that you use for your bathroom mirrors.
The Bathroom Decor -- What kind of mood do you want in your master bathroom? For example, if you want a contemporary and dramatic look, then consider buying black granite or black tile for the countertops. Choose white for the cabinet doors, and black porcelain knobs to complement the countertops.
If you are wanting a traditional, serene look in your master bathroom, then consider something like very light mocha, off-white, or eggshell blue for the color of the countertops. White would still be a good selection for the cabinets, with porcelain knobs that will go well with the countertops.
If you went with black and white for the colors in your master bathroom, think of adding interest by choosing things like bright red or bright yellow towels. Monogram them in the same color as the countertops. Soft colors would be best for your towels if you went with a serene look. The soft color of your countertops might not be enough contrast for the monograms. Instead, metallic gold might be nice.
